natural history museum halloween

Night of Tuesday Oct 31st

Happy Halloween / Samhain! I spent the holiday at the Natural History Museum drifting through after-hours creepy crawly exhibits (live tarantula’s & glowing scorpions), hearing haunted histories, and having the beejesus scared out of me (thank you, dino exhibit guy)!

I was especially interested by the adorable taxidermy animals and also the barren landscapes of the Polar Silk Road exhibition. Honourable mention to the Wildlife Photography of the year collection with glittering mushrooms and more cuddly animals :3

The museum’s architecture is an artform itself, and at night it is really brought to life. It is a Gothic Revival / new age Romanesque style that feels like it belongs deep in the Northern countryside instead of in Kensington.
